Geocache Description:

This cache was assembled by cacher Perrine, from St. Paul, Minnesota. Perrine sent the cache to ArepoSator, who hails from the Midlands of the United Kingdom for placement just outside the village of Newton Burgoland in Leicestershire. Perrine and Arepo cooked up this idea after both crossing the path of Bad Randy, the purple travel bear.

The cache itself is a round, silver tin with a metal map of the USA that has a little black dot indicating St. Paul, Minnesota, where the cache originated. Included in this cache are several things that can loosely be considered Americana Trinkets. Fishing Weasel fish lure (somehow affiliated with Minnesota Twins baseball) New Orleans, Louisiana Voodoo doll from Perrine's boss - comes complete with pins & feathers (never used) Box of new American Mutal Life Insurance Company playing cards Minnesota Loon (state bird) keychain (we Minnesotans are called Loonies!) American Flag magnet (which Perrine found in a cache in Northern Minnesota) Minnesota Vikings (American football team) keychain Eagle (American national emblem) belt buckle from another cache Perrine visited Lake Woebegon magnet (fictional Minnesotan town made famous by author Garrison Keillor) Rocky Mountain National Park keychain (Perrine picked up in another cache) Football & baseball cards Arctic Lego toy from Burger King Gel Pen from Duluth, Minnesota's Aquarium on the shores of Lake Superior 2 - $1000 Federal Reserve Bank notes (big buckeroos!) Log book and pencil also enclosed in cache. If you take something, leave something with some cultural significance. Bad Randy's very nice second cousin, Roosevelt the Travel Bear is originally included in this cache. Roosevelt is a cute little white bear with an American flag on his chest. He hopes to travel around Europe and seek adventures! Suggested parking places: (1) In Newton Burgoland -- on the street at N 52º40.830' W 001º27.639', or at the nearby Belper Arms public house at N 52º40.807' W 001º27.414'. From the pub, walk east along the main road, past a road called The Pinfold on the right, then look for an overgrown gap in the hedge on the left where a stile next to a public footpath signpost allows access to the fields. From here you can follow your GPS signal almost directly to the cache. (2) On the grass verge at N 52º41.656' W 001º26.343' near Rose Cottage Cattery, outside Swepstone. A bridleway passes alongside the left-hand cottage and leads you south, through a tunnel of overarching trees, almost to the north-west corner of the new forest. From there, again, you can follow the GPS signal almost in a straight line to the cache.
