ramapo: Last month's report that the cache was muggled sadly is true. Finally made it to the park today to check on it. The area was scoured by flooding from Irene but the cache would have been safe had it been where it should have been. I looked for about 30 minutes. It was tough finding the right tree as the gps is always jumpy there and the area looks so different.

This one had a good life and it would not be right to replace BrainSnat's Ammo Can with an imposter.

Geocache Description:

This is the fourth cache in the BrianSnat Ammo Can series. I tried to make this one kid-friendly.

This hunt features a short and easy walk to the cache along the banks of the Wanaque River.

The cache is stocked with kid-stuff. The only hitch may be actually finding the cache as the thick tree cover prevented me from getting a consistent set of coordinates so I've provided an average of many readings. The hint should help.

There is an interesting old ruin on the riverbank near the cache as well as a strange platform in the woods along the path. There is also a nice playground near the parking area.

IMPORTANT: First finder, please read the instructions before going for this cache.

Instructions for the First to Find:

The initial cache container is a BrianSnat camouflage painted ammo can. Go and actually pick up the ammo can. Drop any cache container in its place and transfer the log and the cache contents to the new container. Then take the BrianSnat ammo can and place it somewhere else. Call the geocache listing "Find BrianSnat's Ammo Can #5" and add the same instructions. Eventually there will be a whole series of Find BrianSnat's Ammo Can caches.

The objective of this series is to give people an opportunity for cache placement and to give a nod to a great hider from Northern New Jersey.
