Cache is located near the top of a hill in Marrland Openspace in Simi Valley. You can start by getting to Ikenewit's Ruins first. Oh yeah, thanks Ikenewit for the Pics!
After the fire burned through Simi Valley, a lot of forgotten roads that were previously totally overgrown, are now exposed leading us to some very unique places. This cache is located in a former limestone quarry with awesome views. Please be very careful when traversing the areas where landslides have taken out the old road on the way up the hill.

What a view! Never been here before today, but I'll be back. The hint wasn't much good, sorry to say. TFTC!

This location is amazing! I got lucky and found the trail that was in good condition that I was able to take to where the shovel is located. I was expecting the have to bushwhack my way up the mountain. Found the cache and signed the log. Took the CDF pin and left a purple climbing ring. How did they get all that machinery up there?

Very long climb to get to get to this place. Awesome place with great views (could see Santa Cruz Island from here). Very windy today. Surprised how well traveled the trail is, although I didn't run into anyone. Thanks for the easy find (especially the snake). TNLNSL

Rode my bike up Las Llajas trail and found all the caches along the way. All the way to the Shovel (hiked). Very Hot in the canyon today.

Hullabaloo, THAT was fun!
Seriously, for cachers like erik, or lounging_at_walden, that was probably just a stroll in the park, but that was pretty epic for me. I must admit I 'm rather impressed with myself. From Wild Animals, I crossed back over the creek and followed some faint deer trails across the south face, hurdling the erosion ditches, constantly working higher, bushwhacking when I lost the deer trails, until I was able to ascend to the saddle between the summits. That trail(?) that went straight up the ridge looked impossible, so from the saddle I worked around to a secondary ridge that seemed to offer my best chance, short of heading all the way east to the road up from Las Llajas canyon. The ground was so soft it was three steps up, two down, but I persisted until I made it to the higher ridgeline and could get on solid ground. From there it was just 500 feet to the shovel. Finally made it. And could not find the cache. Nooooooooo! I will NOT DNF this. Looked some more, keeping a wary eye on the bees that are using the engine block as a hive. Looked some more. Still can't find it. Dang it, I am not DNFing this. Ate an energy bar, hoping for some rejuvenation. Didn't help. Finally decided to see if GeoCraig could offer any words of wisdom. Miraculously, my pathetic phone actually found signal and I was able to phone a friend. Sadly, Craig found it so long ago, he couldn't help. Graciously, he offered to email the previous finder and report. I dared the bees again, practically crawling in, under and all around No. 206 without success. Curses. Finally, with no more help from Craig, I reluctantly gave up. As I was climbing back up the rocks to retrace my path and head back down the ridge, I saw something that made me return and check one last place I hadn't looked. Oh, you devil. Yes! NOt sure why the welcoming committee exists, surely not the intent of the original hider, but whatever. SL, extremely grateful that I did not have to DNF! Now to see if I can survive the trip back down.
