This is a quick & easy cache set up to be a coin & bug hotel.
The first area I tried to set this up in turned out to be 100' under a ridgetop cache. Too bad. It was a great spot. As I sat checking my numbers a red fox ran to within 20' before he saw me and took off.
I moved to my second choice and got it tucked away in the rocks only to find I had set it up within 150' of another unpublished cache! Great minds think alike but this is nutz!
So I packed up my ammo can and headed for the outskirts of town. We needed a coin bank around here and now, I think, third times a charm.
Tucked away in the nature preserve, trail on one side, Rt. 63 another side and water on the last 2 sides its resting in a mature stand of pine trees. Bounce can be bad under this kind of cover, but its as big as an ammo can. Come and use it! This ones for coins and bugs, try not to fill it with the usual swag. F.T.F. gets a new, unactivated coin.
Park in the dirt pull off near the main gate at N41 33.602, W073 05.633. You have to cross Rt. 63 to walk in. Watch the cars and watch the kids! After you walk in its less than 200' but out of view of everyone.
Take some time to look at the wildlife. I've watched the owls that live in here for years. No red foxes yet, but who knows..........
