Geocache Description:

Aye Mate, a real pirate treasure for the plundering .

Pour me some ale and I will tell you a tale. A tale of pirates and treasures. It was many years ago, I sailed with the pirate Yellow beard throughout the seven seas. Over the years, we plundered many a ship, and hid plenty of treasure. I am not sure if we ever went back and found it all. Aye, I remember one stop we made ...

We left the ship in the cove and the captain ordered several details ashore to find provisions for the ship Yellow beard, myself and several of the crew went ashore to bury a large box of treasure. After getting off the ship we passed to the starboard of a Governor’s Fort and continued on a narrow trail along the shore. We reached a trail intersection and went to the right at first, but stopped when we got to a village beset by the plague. Returning back to the intersection, we went to the left this time and in short order found ourselves at the edge of a river of gray water. Although we feared this river, we did manage to find a way across it and made our way onto the painted flats.

After passing painted flats, we crossed over a footbridge and continued past the Admiral’s Thwart and reached the Gotta Go Springs. After leaving there, we passed Resty Bottom Spring and stopped to rest at a benched longboat. The next morning we took off again and walked along the base of Spyglass hill.

We eventually reached another trail intersection with a large rock mountain to our port side. The main trail went to the starboard, away from the mountain, and a much smaller trail continued to follow around the base of the mountain a short distance before turning away into the woodlands. We found a rock outcropping just to the left of the trail that the captain called The Devil’s Jaw. It was here, near the top that we hid our treasure. I don’t believe anyone has been back. I can only believe it is still there, waiting to be found ...

Don't tell this to no one, matey, or ye be doomed to the curse of the Yellow Beard! I left me map at spot above to help you find the treasure. .
