This cache site is located in Southern Arizona near Pena Blanca Lake, approximately 10 miles north of the U.S./Mexico Border. Take I-19 south to the Pena Blanca Lake exit.

You will not need special gear but there is some climbing involved. At first sight of The Rock you will think "no way" but it's not that difficult if you decipher the clue and investigate the access. Good luck.

All's well. The ammo box has become a summit-register/geocache hybrid, so there are lots of muggle entries in the logbook. But the guests have been polite and considerate, so the cache remains in good shape. Only had to remove a petrified stick of (wrapped) gum.

I came here with Team_Loki and C&K Desert Dwellers on a warm and sunny June morning. Team_Loki and I managed to make a loop out of the climb/ascent, and we found our improvised route to be less direct, but a little easier, than the suggested one. This was a nice challenge with 360 views and I very much enjoyed the company of my new friends. Thanks to Mule Ears for his adoption and maintenance of yet another great Southern Arizona cache!

What a great hike to end a great weekend! C&K Desert Dwellers, Noshdoo tsoh and I started off on this one before breakfast. It isn’t a long hike, but that last 400 feet is a real challenge. Noshdoo tsoh and I took a route just a bit west of the recommended route and it made for a quick, easy ascent. We traveled on the razor ridge and found the cache without issue. On the way down we elected to take the recommended route, and it sure took me to the edge of my comfort zone. Thankfully noshdoo tsoh was leading the way. It’s always easier to do something when you watch someone else do it first.

This is a beautiful area and I plan to spend a lot more time here. Thanks for maintaining this, and many of the other caches in the area.

Replaced the venerable plastic container with a sturdy metal ammo can. Had a great group for the climb up the Stairway Crevice: my pal Gary and three Turkish army officers temporarily assigned to Fort Huachuca for training. They really enjoyed the climb, though I think they were a little disappointed not to rappel off the top
