San Simeon Seal Spot Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

campyc: Hi Touchstone and family! Thanks for the update. I will definitely be there from Feb 15-20 and will place a cache in a new and improved location then. If someone wants to hide a cache there sooner, by all mean, do so. Glad you had a great time - I'm looking forward to being up there again soon.

Geocache Description:

Here's an easy cache if you need a good reason to stop along beautiful Highway 1 north of San Simeon.

Do not park on Highway 1. Park in the lot south of the cache.

For many Californians and tourists, the elephant seals are more of an attraction in this area than is Hearst Castle. These largest of all seals can weigh more than 4,000 pounds; depending when you visit this area, you can see battle-scarred males, petite females (weighing less than 2,000 pounds!) and young seals with big brown eyes!

The cache is on the north end of one of the official visitor areas on the coast (west) side of Highway 1. It's pretty small - please keep to the marine theme when you trade. That's historic Piedras Blancas lighthouse around the point.

PLEASE RE-CONCEAL COMPLETELY.
