Geocache Description:

You are looking for an OD green Army Decon container with a log and small items (including 2 trackable California Wooden Nickels). Bring a writing utensil.

This cache location was originally placed by Scout1939 before he moved out of town, later adopted by Trace Amigos. The original cache name “Portal to Plane of Knowledge, Norrath” came from Scout's interest in the EverQuest computer game. The current cache name is derived as nod to Scout's previous EverQuest cache name.

There's a few caches in this area worth stopping at. This particular road was not on the 1976 survey map from the USGS, but was most likely in place as an unpaved dirt stretch for local equestrian riders. (Note: It's quite a special road to use when the 101/23 freeways get jammed up - it serves as one of our favorite Thousand Oaks shortcuts)

These coordinates will take you to a very notable barrier. You can get to this cache by either carefully scaling the barrier, or walking around it amongst the brush. Be extra careful as there's plenty of unstable ground here thanks to the squirrel holes. This cache is hidden in the exact sort of area a snake or other critter would seek shelter, so exercise extreme caution seeking and extracting this cache. Please re-hide the cache carefully to keep it muggle free. The hint is a dead giveaway, so use it only as a last resort. Good luck, be careful and happy caching!
