This time we hope to make a differance. Stratford is too close
to a location that has discovered Emerald Ash Borer. They need to
remove all of the ash trees in 60 acres of their property. Because
COG has had several events at Stratford, many of us want to help.
If you have done either of the caches on the property, you have
been through the area that needs to be harvested. If you haven't,
you are missing one of the treasures of Central Ohio.
With our help and the help of many other volunteers at other
times, we will help Stratford protect their Nature Preserve from
harsh harvesting done by the state contractors.
We would like as many people to help as feel comfortable, but
helping is by no means required for the event. The event itself
will include:
- Some Celebrations of Milestones achieved.
- Planning for the 2006 COG CITO.
- Hints and gossip about caches around the area.
- Meeting cachers from far and wide.
- Planning for other events, maybe even carpooling up to the
GeoBash.
As always, everyone of any age is welcome to join us, regardless
of experience and ability. Even Bjorn74 is allowed to participate
if he can escape the nursing home.
Stratford Ecological Center is an Alcohol and Smoke Free
environment. Please leave anything in those categories at home or
at least in your vehicle.
