Geocache Description:

We placed a " Team 4chin Seeker " GeoToken in the cache for the FTF

In the town of Monroe, Washington, at Monroe Junction, an abandoned line splits off the currently used Burlington Northern and heads south to Snoqualmie and a lumber mill located there. This used to be one of the spur lines of the old CMSP. All of the CMSP lines were abandoned or sold in 1980. I believe this spur line was bought out by Burlington Northing and run for several years. It was probably abandoned in the mid to late 1980s. The area near the Monroe Junction and surrounding one of the largest and oldest intact abandoned bridges that we've seen yet, is a heavily wooded country park. Again, time was limited, but after finding the bridge by accident, we tracked the abandoned grade to Monroe Junction and tried to follow it over several smaller trestles to the main trestle. We were extremely surprised to find remains of not only the grade, but trackage as well. Most abandoned railroads, especially those have been abandoned for more than several years, are long bare of track and railroad ties.

While placing this cache we spotted wildlife of all sorts. Mots notable is the Baled Eagle. If you have time after you find the cache, sit on this old trestle and take it all in. The great view, wild life and fresh air. What more can you ask for.

! ! ! WARNING ! ! !

Please read before starting your adventure

This is a cache for the more adventurous people out here. You will have to do a little bit of climbing & walking on the trestle. I feel this is a safe location, however do to the height and dangers of falling. I do not recommend bringing young kids or pets. Teenagers should be ok, but that is up to you. I brought my 12 year old son with me to place the cache. I would advise against going when the structure is wet, it gets very slippery!

Please Note, you will NOT need to hang off the trestle or reach over the side of the trestle in any way to find the cache. Please be safe and use your head. Again I feel this is a perfectly safe location or I would not have placed the cache on it. I just want to have my I's dotted and T's crossed :)
