Celebrating 10 Years of Geocaching




WOO HOO! Our sport of geocaching is 10 years old this weekend. Let's celebrate!

Please make plans to join us May 1st (Saturday) from 4 p.m till 8 p.m. and be part of the worldwide celebration of the 10th anniversary of geocaching. There's going to be a potluck supper, a door prize raffle, and plenty of cache talking and tall yarn spinning going on.

Geocachers of all ages and levels of experience are encouraged to attend and help celebrate this geocaching milestone.

We will provide the plates/bowls, silverware, cups, napkins, drinks (lemonade & water), and of course a geocaching birthday cake. The rest is up to you.

Please bring dishes using the following schedule (unless of course you have a killer recipe that is your specialty):

A - M - Bring Main Dish

N - Z - Bring Dessert, Salad, Munchies, Side dishes

We will have plenty of outlets for crock pots and there will be some limited refrigerator space.

Schedule-

4:00 pm the doors open
5:30 pm set up for dinner
6:00 pm dinner is served
7:00 pm raffle
7:30 pm group picture
8:00 pm the doors close

If you are up for it, items for the door prize raffle would be most appreciated!

There will be a table for travel bugs. Trading and discovering is encouraged.

This event is going to be one of the officially sanctioned "10 Years!" Events. A new icon has been created by Groundspeak for the "10 Years!" Events and everyone who attends this event will earn a find on this new icon.

We are going to having a minimum of 20 new caches of many types placed for the event by a nice variety of cachers. We will be releasing the new caches throughout the day on Wednesday, April 28th. This is so you can have them downloaded to your GPS units along with all your other unfound caches before you travel to this event. Here is the link to the bookmark list

Please put this event on your watchlist as we anticipate that there will be updates as we approach the date of the event (the Psychic Cacher assures me she has seen the future and it's so bright we will all have to wear shades!)

Please note: The township hall is a smoke and alcohol free facility and is wheelchair accessible.
