Cache is located on a high ridge on the boundary of the wilderness area, near a 4WD road, at an elevation of 4600 feet. The spot is not too hard to get to, and the view itself is worth the trip. To get there, take State Highway 87 to Rye. Across the highway from the restaurant, take Forest Road 414 to the Mineral Creek Trailhead. At the trailhead corral, take the 4WD road on the right (north) side of the corral on up the ridge to the wilderness boundary.
Cache is in a standard ammo box, and should not be too hard to find. It contains the standard assortment of "cache stuff," but we were kind of low on our supply at the time, so we will come back in the near future with more things and doo-dads. Take your time while you're here....to simply relax for a little bit and enjoy the million dollar view.
