'Oil Can' Boyd became part of our family about three years ago. We
adopted him from a local SPCA shelter. He was called Boyd, but we
made it more special by namimg him after a Red Sox pitcher.
Boyd was my caching buddy since I started caching in 2006. He
loved to go on hikes with me in the woods, and he really enjoyed
our outings in the Sandown Town Forest. Unfortunately, we had to
put him down this summer as cancer had spread through out his body.
I miss him a lot, and I place this cache in his memory.
Please do not park on Fremont Road. Please use the following
coordinates for parking: N 42° 56.469 W 071° 10.769. The
town conservation committee has readily agreed to allow caching in
this area—they only ask that we use the parking area off
Fremont Road and do not park on the road. A second possible
entrance is off Odell Rd. See cache GC1F36K for more information.
There are alternate ways to reach this area from the Rockingham
Rail Trail. There is access to the trail from Main Street in
Sandown as well as off Odell Road. There are numerous trails off
the rail trail that lead into the Town Forest. Please respect the
wishes of our conservation committee, and do not park on any part
of Fremont Road to access any of the caches in the Town Forest.
