Para participar neste evento CITO (que possibilita a obtenção de um souvenir), deverás comparecer nas coordenadas indicadas, pelas 10H00 do dia 24 de Setembro (sábado).
Sob a orientação dos Serviços Florestais da ilha de S. Miguelserá dsenvolvida uma ação de plantação de diversas plantas.
No final do plantio, realizar-se-á uma visita guiada aoViveiro das Frurnas e trilho existente no local e em fase de recuperação.
O término deste evento está previsto para as 12H30.
“A floresta açoriana constitui um elemento estruturante e marcante da identidade da nossa paisagem.
Ocupando cerca de 31% do território, a floresta suporta, na Região, um sector económico responsável por 1.400 postos de trabalho, gerando um volume de negócios anual de cerca de 1.8 milhões de euros, pela venda direta de material lenhoso, e de 10,9 milhões de euros, quando contabilizado ao nível do sector industrial da primeira transformação.
A real importância das florestas vai, contudo, muito para além do seu valor tangível, assumindo uma importância fundamental na conservação dos solos, dos recursos hídricos, da biodiversidade e no papel que desempenha para o bem-estar e qualidade de vida das populações.
A Direção Regional dos Recursos Florestais da Secretaria Regional da Agricultura e Ambiente é o departamento governamental que, nos Açores, tutela o sector florestal, competindo-lhe definir e executar a política de ordenamento, protecção, desenvolvimento e uso dos recursos florestais, cinegéticos e piscícolas das águas interiores. São vastas as áreas de intervenção da Dilecção Regional e dos seus Serviços Florestais de ilha, nomeadamente:
protecção do Património Florestal, através do licenciamento e fiscalização das operações de exploração florestal;
fomento florestal, através do acompanhamento técnico de projetos de florestação privados e execução de projetos públicos;
·Viveiros florestais, que produzem anualmente milhares de plantas nativas e exóticas, com vista à florestação;
·Reservas Florestais de Recreio, locais geridos e cuidados com o objetivo de proporcionar á população, local e visitante, o lazer em espaços florestais e o contacto com diversas espécies da fauna e da flora;
·Caminhos Rurais e Florestais, que constituem um elemento estruturante da paisagem e determinante na atividade agro-florestal na Região;
·Pastagens Baldias, colocadas ao serviço das populações através do arrendamento de áreas ou da prestação de serviços de pastoreio;
·Cinegética, através do ordenamento, monitorização, fiscalização e gestão das populações de espécies cinegéticas e do exercício da caça, bem como do funcionamento dos postos cinegéticos;
·Piscicultura, pela fiscalização do exercício da pesca e repovoamentos populacionais a partir dos efetivos produzidos nos postos aquícolas;
·Melhoramento Florestal, pela prossecução do Plano de Melhoramento Florestal que, há mais de dez anos, se tem centrado na melhoria da qualidade e adaptabilidade das espécies florestais para fins de produção de material lenhoso;
·Inventário Florestal, que procura permanentemente caracterizar a floresta açoriana e sua evolução;
·Sistemas de informação, Cartografia e Planeamento, que utilizando toda a informação gerada diariamente pelo normal funcionamento dos Serviços Florestais cria o suporte necessário ao planeamento e definição de políticas florestais a curto, médio e longo prazo”.

Under the guidance of the Forest of the island of São Miguel Services will dsenvolvida an action of planting various plants.
At the end of the planting will take place a guided tour of aoViveiro Frurnas and existing rail on site and in the recovery phase.
The end of the event is scheduled for 12.30.
"The Azorean forest is a structural and striking element of the identity of our landscape.
Occupying about 31% of the territory, the forest supports in the region, economic sector accounts for 1,400 jobs, generating an annual turnover of about 1.8 million, the direct sale of timber and 10, 9 million euros when booked at the level of industry first processing.
The real importance of forests will, however, far beyond its tangible value, assuming a fundamental importance in the conservation of soil, water resources, biodiversity and the role it plays for the well-being and quality of life of the population.
The Regional Directorate of Forestry of the Regional Agriculture Department and Environment is the government department that, in the Azores, protects the forest sector, being responsible for defining and executing the planning policy, protection, development and use of forest resources, wild game and fish inland waters. Are vast areas of intervention of the Regional Direção and its island of Forest Services, including:
- protection of the Forest Heritage, through licensing and supervision of forestry operations;
- forest development through the technical support of private forestry projects and execution of public projects;
• forest nurseries that produce annually thousands of native and exotic plants, with a view to afforestation;
• Recreational Forest Reserves, managed local and care in order to provide to the population, local and visitor, leisure forest areas and contact with various species of fauna and flora;
• Rural and forest paths, which constitute a structural element of the landscape and determining the agro-forestry in the region;
• Pastures uncultivated, placed at the service of the people through the lease areas or providing pastoral services;
• hunting, through planning, monitoring, supervision and management of populations of game species and hunting exercise, and the operation of hunting posts;
• Fish farming, for monitoring fishing activity and population resettlements from the
actual produced in aquaculture stations;
• Forest improvement, the pursuit of the Forest Improvement Plan, which for more than ten years, has focused on improving the quality and adaptability of forest species for timber production purposes;
• Forest Inventory, which seeks to permanently characterize the Azorean forest and its evolution;
• Information systems, Mapping and Planning, that using all the information generated daily by the normal operation of Forest Services creates the necessary support to the planning and definition of forest policies in the short, medium and long term. "
