Gauntlet: Seldon's Century Hide Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

seldon: All stages now removed. The final was in an easier position than I had left it, and the huge log that had been across the trail for years was now cut open and removed. Thanks for all the kind words logged by previous finders. It has had a good run, but time to go away.

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Are you up to the challenge?

Few will make the attempt, fewer still will finish the journey. Many cachers say they are not in it for the numbers. Here's a chance to prove it. One smiley, a lot of effort; you will remember this one.

Each stage will present it's own unique challenge. Each stage has the coords for the next stage.

Please note: each stage has been designed so that you DO NOT need to tear up the area. Each stage is available to your senses without destroying habitat or going overboard. It is there to be found, you can find each stage and replace it without leaving a trace. There are no nano's. I will verify by email that you have the correct coords for a stage if you doubt that it's there, but no hints until after FTF (8/14/08 edit: after the amount of time on the first stage mentioned in the first DNF logs, I am adding a hint for stage one. This does not decrease the overall difficulty of the cache). Each stage has been designed to minimize the chance of being muggled. The final stage is small, but large enough to contain 3 unactivated geocoins for FTF/STF/TTF.

Note on stage 5: When replacing stage 5, make sure the written coords are placed facing DOWN.

This is a seven-stage multicache, all within 15 miles of Faribault, MN. Total driving distance for the five locations is around 50 miles from start to end if you do all the stages in one shot. The longest round-trip hike is less than a mile.

So, what say you - local cachers, those from outlying areas, Twin Cities, wherever - it's out there, waiting....
