Geocache Description:

We listed the difficulty higher on the scale because this is a night time cache. It is not impossible to do this cache in the daylight, but it is definately easier and a lot more fun to do at night. Please respect the local residents.

There is an old native legend that tells of a creature that once hunted the shoreline of Cultus Lake at night. It is said that the monster had jaws as long as a canoe, with many sharp arrowheads for teeth. They say that if you even spotted the beast, it would be the last thing that you would see in this world. The story continues even after the white settlers arrived. A giant lizard-like creature was spotted in the forests around the lake. An old trapper who lived by the lake claimed to have shot at the beast with no effect, it had simply slithered back into the woods unhurt. The last time that anyone saw the old trapper was when he came to town one day to buy some silver. He claimed that in his dream, a wise Indian Chief told him to use silver bullets to kill the monster. That night, his neighbours heard two or three dozen pistol shots coming from the woods. The unfortunate soul was never seen again. It also appeared to be the end of the creature, because there have been no sightings since that night. There are still many people who, hearing of the old stories, will not enter the water at night, or the forest in the daytime. To find this cache simply park at the above co-ords by the yellow gate. Follow the silver bullet holes into the forest with a good flashlight to find your way through this maze of trails made by the creature. You will know that you are close to the cache, when you feel like you are being watched...
