Geocache Description:

An easy walk along the River Onny Trail with well trodden paths with a couple of stiles.  However the walk can be very muddy at times.

The roundtrip is about 30 minutes.  The terrain rating reflects the distance to walk and the need for wellingtons or at least boots following rain.  The official footpath traverses a stream which following rain can be ankle deep.

The walk follows the route of the old Craven Arms to Bishops Castle railway and to maintain the railway theme starts by the side of the current railway. The old railway went bankrupt in 1866 (a year after it started) and was run under the auspices of the receiver until 1935 when it finally closed. A fuller account is available on the bishops Castle railway society website.

The coordinates are for the Onny Trail car park where there is a ‘Welcome to the Onny Trail’ notice board. The noticeboard is to the left of the kissing gate to enter the field.  Using the information from the board:

A=course of railway + Glenburrel Bridge
B= Gleneburrel Bridge
C=Glenburrel Bridge - Glenburrel Bridge

Cache co-ords are: N52 27.AAB W2 50.ACA

The cache is a tall Tupperware container.
