Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Geocaching and 4x4s go together like peanut butter and
jelly. Both are great fun, but both must be done in an
environmentally aware manner. Tread Lightly® is a not-for-profit
organization that works towards educating people in how to recreate
in the great outdoors while causing minimum impact on the
environment. That's why we put on our Geocaching event each year,
to help spread the awareness of being cautious about the land
you're caching on.
And so on the day of August 21st, in the year of 2010, as
the sun is at the highest point in the sky, the ORCAs shall meet
once again.
The event this year will be held at the Seboomook Wilderness
Campground. So pack up your caching gear, bring a kayak (we have
waterfront sites!) And come join us for some GSAK talk, TB trade,
and some off road cache runs.
This event is at a campground so of course there will be fees to
camp. These will need to be paid to the campground. Daily rate is
$25 per family. Each tent is $25. Each extra adult is $5 per person
per day, day visitors included. You may have 1 vehicle at your site
at no fee, any extra vehicles will be charged a one-time fee of $2.
Dogs are allowed, they are $2 a night extra and must be kept on a
leash and looked after properly. I have reserved 4 sites on the
water (that should cover about 16 people), and put down half of the
cost. So the group that shows up will be responsible for the
difference. These sites will be available first come first reserve.
So if we have more than 16 people claiming attendance, all other
will need to make arrangements with the campground.
Remember, you are responsible for you, come prepared.
And join us on
Facebook to discuss the event!
