On February 17, 2013, I explored a new way into the canyon. I’m going to recommend this as the way to go as you don’t have to trespass through the condo parking lots or take a regimented route through the upscale and uptight private community.
The Devil’s Canyon trail has a lot of diversity to it, from fire road to narrow canyon with steep walls, from single track, to wider sections surrounded by grassy knolls. You will cross the creek at least two dozen times, stepping on stones to keep from getting wet, as well as walking through the dry wash at times. I suggest that you bring a hiking stick on your adventure.
WATCH OUT FOR POISON OAK. It is abundant, and at times it is close to the trail on both sides. None of the caches should be by it. If this changes, please let me know. There is no reason for anyone to come into contact with it, as long as they keep their eyes open, and know what it looks like.
Devil's Condo is a mini decon container. All of these condo really mess up the view.
