Eden Medical Center first opened its doors on November 15, 1954.
The state of California, the nation and the world were very
different places back then. The early days of the Cold War
dominated the international scene. McDonald's wouldn't open its
first restaurant for another year, Disneyland was still a dream on
the drafting boards, the Dwight Eisenhower was president. There
were no personal computers, no Internet and no cell phones.
Medicine was far less complex and less connected to technology than
it is today. The hospital plans on constructing a new hospital.
Watch for construction to begin soon. This is the first of two
caches placed in celebration of Eden Medical Center's 50th
Anniversary. Cache is a small magnetic cammo'd container and can
fit small items (if that). Please bring a pen to sign-in. Cache has
been approved by hospital administration and security is aware of
the hides.
6/1/06 UPDATE: If you have problems with security, tell them "Chad
is aware of it."
6/27/09 UPDATE: Work has finally begun on building the brand new
hospital - hospital is being built without taxpayer's money and is
due to be completed no later than January 2013 to meet the State
mandated seismic guidelines.
