Geocache Description:

This is an event cache for people who'd like to hike up Ben Nevis but wisely do not want to do it on their own. You can log this cache even if you don't make it to the top and the GCG6XD Britain's Highest Geocache if you do.

The coordinates are for the trig pillar atop Ben Nevis. I would like to suggest we meet at N56 48.380 W005 04.360 which is the visitor centre and a good start to the ascent. I'm told there is also partking available at the Glen Nevis Youth Hostel nearby. I think 9AM is a reasonable starting time. I'm guessing it will take 3-4 hours to make it to the summit. I'm a heavier hiker and won't be aiming for any records to get to the top - I have lots of energy though, a bit like the little engine that could! Much has been said of the difficulty of hiking Ben Nevis but this is true of any long and arduous climbs. If you haven't done this kind of hiking before you may want to get out and practice a little beforehand.
