Adopted this from original CO. After some time of trying to fix the original ammo can, I gave up and ordered a replacement. Original was metal and the hinges were rusted and one was broken off. Due to the replacement ammo can being muggled you are now looking for a small camo’d lock and lock.
Officially this is "Just a Short Walk's First Cache" This geocache just had it's 15th Birthday, It's older than some Geocachers! It was here at this site where I came to be close friends to another great Cache Planter "Iron Chef" Together we took an area that had only about FIVE geocaches and left AMMO Cans all over the Monterey and Santa Cruz Areas. It REALLY makes me happy to see all the emails come in each day from all the 130+ caches (75% were Ammo Cans) that are still out there that I left for you to find. Our Mission Statement, "Plant a Cache and they will come!" ended up being a VERY VERY TRUE statement.. You folks are still looking for JASW and Iron Chef caches after 15 YEARS! Happy Birthday Geocache, You've lived up to your expectations and then some. Thank You to all that have visited my (YOUR) Geocaches. Just a Short Walk Great place to come walk.
You may have fun finding the way to the park. Once your there you need to watch for Poison Oak!!
This Cache was my first and I called it "Veteran's Cache" . I was very disappointed when this cache was taken so I have replanted it with new goodies. If you have been here before please go back and relog your visit.
The cache is in a different spot than the first cache but close by.
The Cache:
The cache is a small camo’d lock and lock. This Cache could easily be missed even if standing right next to it. BYOP. Please replace as found or better to keep this one from being muggled again.
There is no entrance fee if you park closer to the Cache. There are not a whole lot of ways to get here so keep trying roads and you will find it.
