Geocache Description:

This cache is a quick "park & grab" cache, designed to be a very quick trip to enable frequent travel bug exchanges in a convenient spot that is only of interest to geocachers. Please leave the cache with at least three travel bugs in it if possible, but if you can help a travel bug on its mission, please do so even if you don't have a TB to swap.

IMPORTANT NOTE: CACHE RELOCATED as of 7 September 2010!
Due to the disappearance of the original cache container, the location of this cache has changed by about 65 feet. If you are a prior finder of this cache who is making a second visit, you'd do well to use the new coordinates to locate the cache in its new location! (Sorry, repeat visitors don't get to claim a new "find," but rather should use a "note" to log their repeat visit.)

Cache Theme:
We have enjoyed many different aspects of geocaching: interesting spots one would never know about except for geocaching, challenging hikes that test one's endurance, fun puzzles that exercise one's brain, and helping travel bugs reach their goals. This cache has absolutely nothing to offer with respect to the first three categories. This is a boring spot, located less than 200 feet from parking, with no challenging puzzle. The only redeeming quality of this cache is that it is a very convenient spot for travel bugs to be placed to help them on their way. Travel bugs should be safe here in a location only of interest to geocachers, in a clean, watertight container, with plenty of room for travel bugs.

Since the cache is intended to enable travel bug swapping, please leave the cache with at least three travel bugs in it if you can. If you have no travel bug to swap and can help one of the hotel guests on its way, you may take a travel bug even if doing so leaves less than three TBs in the cache. If there are currently less than three travel bugs in the cache and you can leave a few extra TBs here to boost occupancy, such actions are always appreciated!

Cache Location: The Route 101 Travel Bug Hotel is hidden on a small tract of land owned by the Town of Bedford. Decades ago, this piece of land was part of the road which has grown into NH Route 101. An astute geocacher will have no trouble recognizing the location of the former roadway. The cache is located over 75 feet from the current highway, so there is no need to go close to busy Route 101 to find the cache. You will not need to move any rocks in any of the stone walls in order to find the cache container.

Parking: Parking for the Route 101 Travel Bug Hotel is located directly off of NH Route 101 on the Northwest side of the highway at N 42 54.965 W 71 32.889. There is room for about three cars to park here and still have room for vehicles to turn around. Please park only in the small lot; do not attempt to park on the shoulder of Route 101. When you leave the parking lot, please do not try to back out onto Route 101, but turn around in the parking lot.

Happy Caching!
