The Deadly Sins are a series of caches to help you regain a part
of your lost soul. What’s that, you ask? You didn’t realize you
were missing a piece? Sorry to inform that you are, but help is
close at hand. Whether you admit it or not (and you can, if you
want, in the logbook or online log), I believe we have all
experienced at least one of these sins in the process of geocaching
(for some of us, perhaps more than one. Not that I know anything
about that).
Greed
Greed could be expressed in a couple of ways, but I think I’ll
go with the concept of “Trade Up, Trade Even or Don’t Trade At
All.” If that’s the case, how does so much so-called “Cache Trash”
(thanks, Sam & Tyler!) end up in our carefully stocked up and
laid out hides?
Now, the cache itself has nothing specifically to do with being
greedy, but I’ll ask that you try to Trade Up, just because it
should occur more often.
About the cache:
Probably the easiest and quickest of the Sin caches. From
parking, the cache is about 0.25 miles away. Most of the walk is
about a 1.5 terrain, and goes up in difficulty over the last 80
feet or so to the cache. Nice view of the nearby wetlands from GZ
in the winter, probably not as much during the warmer months. I was
thinking of placing the cache in that rock formation about 200’
further into the woods, but a piece of private property is over
there, so I settled on this spot instead.
Each of the Deadly Sins has a code on the inside front cover
of the logbook and on the inside cover of the cache container. You
must take note of the code to truly become
Virtuous and retrieve the part of your soul that is
lost.
