RAT Office Traditional Geocache
The Lost Patrol: I checked on it today while deer hunting in the area and it is gone. It was too unique to replace.

At the RAT Office in Ruch
In 1993 The Jackson County Sheriffs Office and the Oregon State Police thought they would try Community Policing. A Sheriffs Deputy and a State Trooper were assigned to patrol the Applegate Valley. The community got involved and provided the pair with office space in Ruch. The cops were called the Rural Action Team aka RAT and the office became known as the RAT office. Eventually both agencies decided they didn't have the manpower to keep people stationed in rural areas and both rat patrols were called back to town. The office is still there in the center of the community. Stop and read the plaque which explains the history of Ruch.
There is also a memorial to Ralph Springer, a State Trooper who died in an aircraft accident.
No need to dig in the shrubs or to bring any tools. Just bring your caching instinct.
