This cache can be found in a field near to Bonnyton Moor Golf Course. It is located next to Carlin Craigs which is a group of cup marked stones. Park at the coordinates given and go through the gate into the field adjacent to the parking space. The ground here is quite rough and boggy so wellies or waterproof boots should be worn. There can also be sheep near the stones, so dogs would not be welcome.

Cup marks are round or oval hollows carved into stone which are also known as petroglyphs. These can occur singly, in lines, or in more detailed patterns which can cover a large portion of rock. The depth of cup marks can vary. They are thought to be prehistoric and archaeologist, Ronald Morrison suggests that they date from the bronze age. The reasons for why these carvings were made are not understood, but it has been suggested that they may represent geographical maps, star maps, sites where fat was set alit for religious practices or to indicate ownership of land.
The blocks of stones at Carlin Craigs make great natural seats and provide a good shelter from the wind. Bonnyton Moor Golf Course is nearby and Tiger Woods would be happy to drive a shot here from the 18th tee!
While you are parked here you can also get a cache with a great view 'First to Use Your Imagination... Glasgow. '
