If you like to bike and cache, park at the Head of the River Church
and ride west on Rt 49 to the first cache. Follow your GPS for the
remaining caches. Once you have all four continue back to the Head
of the River. If you aren't familiar with the area, take a waypoint
at your car before starting out. This should be about a six or
seven mile ride.
This slightly demonic hide may prove troublesome. If it does, blame
the Jersey Devil, not wigoweb.
The
posted coordinates are not the actual coordinates. You can retrieve
the actual coords by finding the first three caches in this Jersey
Devil Series (just click on nearby caches for links). Once you have
the info, fill in the missing coords.

On
January 21st, 2008 a man heard a screech and saw a strange creature
perched on top of his chicken coop in Eldora. The large winged
creature flew off once the man's cell phone
rang.
On
March 16th of that same year, a woman saw a very large creature
with red-orange eyes flying out of the woods while she was driving
on the Garden State Parkway near mile 19 in Seaville. She reported
that she might have seen the Jersey Devil.
This
cache contains a replica of the NJ coin which has an image of the
Jersey Devil. We were fortunate to acquire one of these rare coins,
and we want to give others the chance to at least "discover" the
coin. You can record the number on the coin and discover it if you
wish. Please do not take the replica, just copy down the coin's
number and use that to record your discovery.
We
are going to virtually "drop" the coin into the cache and leave it
there so that it appears in the cache listing. You will be able to
click on the icon on the cache page to view the coin's
history.
Do
take precautions while searching. If you hear really strange
noises, consider returning to your cache mobile and trying again
some other day. Prudent cachers will search for the Jersey
Devil along Rt. 666 only in broad
daylight.
