Geocache Description:

Geocaching 101 with Hancock Park District April 19, 2007

Are you new to geocaching? Are you an experienced veteran? Somewhere in between? We hope to see all of you at Litzenberg Memorial Woods in Findlay, Ohio for this program! (visit link)

We will host a informal presentation, held in the Activity Barn. Presentation will start at 2:00 pm. This will be an opportunity for new geocachers to learn from experienced geocachers…

* What is geocaching?
* How did geocaching start?
* What makes a geocache?
* What is GPS and how do I use a handheld GPS unit?
* How do I find a geocache?
* How do I hide a geocache?

After the small presentation, we will break up into groups combining cachers of varying experiences to find geocaches hidden in Litzenberg Memorial Woods.

We encourage experienced geocachers to come and help guide the small group hunts. You can also ask individuals questions regarding paperless caching, including the use of GSAK and Cachemate.

Bring your geogear if you have some, but if you’re new a GPS isn’t required!

Please RSVP your plans to attend the event by posting a "will attend" log on this page. Please support Hancock Park District by supporting this event put together by BlackBrownDog and wayward_elves!

Hosted by proud members of NWOGEO! (visit link)

Feel free to attend the morning event Cache In Trash Out event at "Pick Up Litz" (visit link) earlier in the day, and join us for lunch!
