This stretch of the Lea Valley Walk follows the track of the old Eastern Region railway line. You can access it fairly close to the new Luton Parkway railway station and take a stroll along it to East Hyde, about 3 kilometres away, or at various other points along the way. At the Luton end, the path is little used, badly signposted and ill-maintained. If you want to do the walk then I suggest parking in the Retail Park by the railway station and walking along the footpath on the right hand side of the Wheathampstead Road (B653). The first sensible access to the Lea Valley Walk is the style at N51° 52.038’ W000° 23.274’
If you're driving, you can park at N51° 50.966’ W000° 22.561’
Close to the cache location there is the beautiful, but unaccessible, Luton Hoo Park on one side and the not-so-beautiful and equally unaccessible East Hyde sewerage treatment works on the other. Tackling this cache on a hot summers day is not recommended. There are no offsets or puzzles. This is a straightforward 'I hide it... you find it' sort of cache.
You're looking for a small ammunition box crammed full of... err.... stuff. Retrieving the cache my be hazardous. It should only be attempted by an adult and preferably one that doesn't suffer from vertigo.
Be good, guys and don't leave sharp, pointy things or items of food and drink in the cache and please replace everything just as you found it.
