Geocache Description:

Located along a mile stretch on the Olympic Discovery Trail, between Gasman Road and Old Olympic Highway. The trail is blacktopped all of the way. No bushwacking should be required. You will need to climb a small hill to get to the cache. Nothing strenuous. Please be respectful of the environment.

The inspiration for this cache came from an experience we had when we moved to the area in '99. We were returning from a trip to town and much to our surprise saw a juvenile bear scampering across the end of Gasman Road near Old Olympic Highway. Another friend saw the little fellow later that week. We have not seen the critter since. So, in memory of that experience, we decided to create a couple of caches along this section of the Olympic Discovery Trail. Enjoy the walk.

The CACHE CONTAINER is a small pill bottle-disguised, of course. Please bring your own pen. Another pin for your geohat is included for the FTF. This time it is a black bear with a Washington state logo. Also, placed a few coins in the bottle. Please do not destroy the environment looking for this one. Be sure to replace the cache as you found it. Enjoy the hunt.
