Geocache Description:

This is the first in a series of geocaches placed by the Rusty Nail Lodge Militia. The R.N.L.M. is a group of like-minded individuals who enjoy fishing, hunting, camping and four-wheeling. We will hide caches in some of our favourite areas.

This cache is located in beautiful Skagit Valley Provincial Park, located at the end of the Silver Skagit Road, approximately 50km south of Hope. The road is good with rough sections. A 4x4 is not required to reach the park.
The cache is a small Rubbermaid container with a red lid. It contains: a log book and pen, two soapstone Loons, two wooden Loons, a golf kit, a racquet ball, a pair of safety glasses, and an assortment of dry flies to try on the river.
To begin your search follow the road almost to the campground and look for a suspension bridge crossing the river on your right. Just past the bridge is a small parking area on your left. The bridge leads to the Chittenden Meadow self-guiding interpretive trail that meanders through a dry ecosystem of prairie grasses and majestic ponderosa pine. The cache is hidden somewhere along the trail.
Further down the road is a day-use area with picnic tables, pit toilets, a swimming beach and a play area. Make it a day trip and enjoy the stunning scenery of the park as you search for this cache.
