Geocache Description:

You will find this cache in Toronto's Entertainment district, around two of the most recognizable attractions of Toronto, the CN Tower ad Roger's Centre (Skydome). This cache is a part of the series, “Around Toronto - Exploring the City” (GC2MAV5), a mystery cache whose coordinates are found in 4 traditional caches located at famous Toronto sites. The required coordinate is located at the top of the logbook.

The CN Tower and Roger's Centre are two of the most defining attractions of Toronto. The cache location is close to both of the two structures and can be found all year round.

The CN Tower is the predominant feature of Toronto's skyline. On clear days it can be seen as far as 60km away. Created with the desire from CN railway to build a large TV and radio communication platform to serve the Toronto area, as well as demonstrate the strength of CN and Canadian industry. The tower was opened in 1976, becoming the tallest tower and still stands today as the 3rd tallest in the world. An impressive engineering feat that only now is being surpassed by many taller towers in construction.

Torontonians and tourists alike should venture up the tower to see the spectacular view.

The Roger's Centre or "Skydome" is a multi-purpose stadium that is home to The Toronto Blue Jays and Argonauts. It holds all types of venues from concerts, sporting events, monster truck shows to the 2015 Pan American Games.

The stadium was created out of a need for an enclosed sporting venue after the 1982 Grey Cup game, held at the outdoor Exhibition Stadium, was plagued with horrible weather and forced spectators to take shelter. Chants of "We want a dome!" rang out throughout the crowd. The Ontario government listed and proposals were created for the dome. In the end a concept of an operable dome, the first of its kind in the world, won out and in 1989 opened its doors to the stadium we see today.

I always remember going to the Blue Jays games with my Dad and loving the experience of both the game and the grand scale of the stadium. It is an amazing venue and worth exploring for all ages.

It is difficult to get an accurate gps reading in this area, if you have the ability to view the satellite image it will narrow your search. For those without the use of satellite imagery you should follow the old tracks to the Eastern side of the park where you get a view of the passing trains, it is here you will find GZ. Bring your own writing utensil, replace the cache exactly as found and be sure to enjoy the view of the trains below...
