The cache is not at the above coordinates. The coordinates are at the boat dock which is the starting point for this cache. You need to calculate the cache coordinates based on the information provided below.
We like to visit Parker Canyon Lake during the summer months to escape the heat and avoid the crowds at other nearby lakes. Most of the time we bring our canoe with us, this allows us to haul our ice chest, picnic supplies, and fishing poles to an isolated location at the lake. On this particular trip we decided to hide a geocache at one of our favorite picnic spots.
At 11:00:00 AM we set out in our canoe from the dock with a bearing of 284.90°
true north. We were able to maintain a constant speed of 1.0 knots...we were fighting a headwind. At 11:17:46 AM we changed our bearing to 346.09°
true north, after which we maintained a constant speed of 2.0 knots. At 11:33:52 AM we reached the final destination, the location of the geocache. After we hid the cache, it was time for lunch and a well earned nap.
Note that this geocache does not require the use of a boat, there is a nice hiking trail that encircles the entire lake. Parker Canyon Lake is a small lake, and I cannot imagine the trail being more that 5.0 miles around its circumference.
The cache container is made of 2" PVC pipe, it is painted tan and is very well hidden.
