Let's have some fun - a social day of geocaching, swopping geo-tales, and introducing prospective geocachers to our sport. Bring your GPSr, family, friends, food and refreshments, and come enjoy yourselves.
Date: Sunday, 19th March 2006
Venue: Wiklip Dam picnic area, alongside the lake - grassed, shady trees, toilets, and a large shelter in case it rains. S25°14.277 E030°53.806
Cache Hunt: In the morning, anytime from 9am. There will be five new caches hidden around the lake which will take you on a leisurely scenic drive to the inlet and back (about 12kms). Unfortunately, we cannot go right around the lake, as the bird sanctuary on the western shore is closed over weekends. Meet at the picnic area to collect your cache handouts. These caches will be published shortly before the event, and may be logged in the normal manner.

Picnic: Around 1pm - there are no tables, chairs or fireplaces - so, if you wish to braai, please bring a gas braai.
Afternoon Activities: GPS games with geo-prizes. Feel free to submit any ideas for fun GPS games.
Attendance: Please bring as many muggles as you can so that we can introduce them to our wonderful sport. Open invite to all visiting geocachers - if you can make it, we welcome you with open arms - please let us know if you need help with accommodation.
Sadly, camping is no longer permitted at the event venue.
