Geocache Description:

Nenarocna prechadzka po starobylej Levoci / Undifficult walk in ancient town of Levoca.

SK: Mesto a jeho okolie bolo osidlene uz v mladsej dobe kamennej. Prva pisomna zmienka o Levoci pochadza z roku 1249. Pri dnesnej Kosickej brane sa uz v 11.storoci nachadzala velka osada s rotundovitym kostolom, ktora sa stala zakladom dnesnej Levoce. A prave tuto sa zacina hladanie prvej kesky v tomto slobodnom kralovskom meste.

EN: The town and its surroundins were settled in the New Stone Age. The oldest document, where Levoca is mentioned for the first time, was issued in 1249. Large settlement and a rotund church from the 11th century were situated next to what is now Kosicka Gate, which became the foundation of the present town. And right here we are starting to search the first geocache in this free king's town.
