Cache is at Meadow Pond Park and is accessed from Hedgehog Lane in West Simsbury. Today it includes a lacrosse field, a play set, a pavilion and a small pond.
Congratulations to ConnArtist for the FTF.
Meadow Pond has evolved over the years from when it had a sandy beach and a life guard. It was popular swimming and picnicking spot particularly for families with small children. It was usually referred to as Hedgehog Pond. Hedgehogs are a small nocturnal, spiny mammals with barbless spines. One of their defenses is to roll up into a ball with all their spines pointing outward. They are apparently still there today as evidenced by local signs akin to “Hedgehog Crossing”.
To get to this cache follow the trail behind the pavilion.
