Conoy Township - The trailhead starts at Bainbridge American Legion Park on Race Street and goes downriver to the Shocks Mill railroad bridge. Bainbridge is home to the Haldeman Mansion, where internationally recognized scientist, Samuel S. Haldeman, was born. The home is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. This part of the trail offers access to Conewago Falls, the river potholes, the Conoy Canal Trail, views of the York Haven Dam, a ghost town, strange, barren white limestone cliffs that tower above the river, Indian settlements, an active eagle nest, an old river ferry, the historic Haldeman Mansion and remnants of old eel weirs on the river bottom. Falmouth is also known for its annual goat races.
Caches along this section of the trail have been hidden by members of the LOST group. LOST is the Lancaster Organization for Seeking Tupperware.
