This cache is located off a well-established hard packed dirt trail
through one of Janesville's many Green Belt areas. You'll need to
cross a dry streambed where a footbridge washed out some time ago.
Other than this it is a easy hike of about 6/10 of a mile from the
suggested parking at N42 41.219' W088 58.667' off of Greendale Rd.
As you near the cache let your GPSr settle-in after clearing the
tree cover.
As I was growing up, I spent hours & hours in this Green Belt.
My friends & I use to tell other kids there was a Gullyman that
lived in this area (we called this area the "gully" hence
"Gullyman"). Now my kids love to hike down here with Grandpa &
Ruby the Beagle. So the Gullyman story has again resurfaced. Can
you find his micro-stash? A 1st Place medal has been placed for the
person that finds this one first. You are looking for a 35mm film
container containing the log within a container made to blend in
with the surroundings. The outer container is big enough to hold
very small items such as small hatpins or coins along with the 35mm
container. Please be sure to replace this cache exactly as you
found it to avoid any water infiltration. Thank you to Ad for
donating the outer container. You will agree it is cool when you
find it! Don't forget to look for our Return of the Gullyman cache
about a 1/3 of mile up the trail. Enjoy!
