Rock-it Radio: Yes Sadly this Geocache site has been closed down. It was back up for a few months but I guess the local rancher had enough of these beautiful shoes!

Geocache Description:

Located in the Outdoor Shoe Display of the Ventura County International Shoe Museum.

VENTURA COUNTY INTERNATIONAL SHOE MUSEUM

Just opened - the International Outdoor Shoe Museum of Ventura County -- In which Ventura County may have spent up to 38.7 Million dollars on this fine outdoor display. -- And in my humble opionion, is one of the finest shoe museums of it's kind. (but I am easily impressed!) On Display you may possibly see ...

-- The Left shoe of Father Junipero Serra that he wore while he strolled the San Buenaventura Mission in 1792.
-- The Right Boot of Spanish Conquistador Explorer Ponce De Leon.
-- The shoe that Mary Pickford wore in the shooting of the 1920's Classic 'Wings'.
-- The first shoe in flight worn by Orville Wright in 1903.
-- And possibly on display until April -- Some of the finest collections of Top Phillipine collector Imelda Marcos.

Admission is free and make sure to bring a camera as this rare display may overwhelm you with it's beauty in footdom and the science of shoeology!

Watch for traffic -- there should be ample parking along Bristol Rd. to park and grab this cache.

Make sure to upload a picture of you with your favorite shoe if you like. On 2/24/2008 Ms. Mildred Hushpuppy may be here to sign autographs or the bottom of your own shoe for a slight nominal fee.

SEVERAL VALUABLE SHOES DESTROYED
DRIVER DESTROYS CACHE

On the morning of March 15th, 2008 Homeland Security along with British Intelligence and Scotland Yard were quickly dispatched to the site of the Ventura County Shoe Museum after a report of missing world famous shoes and the cache at this location.
Terrorist activity was quickly ruled out but a possible drunk driver or an out of control Berry Picker plowed into the fence destroying several valuable shoes and the original cache of this location.
Jammin' Jan of Rock-it Radio was quoted saying 'Oh no'. But early that morning a new cache was placed just about 70' from the crash site. And the new coordinates have been entered.
United Nations inspectors will be inspecting the crash site and will report back on possible world funds to replace this famous museum of footdom.
