Come on out to Hay Creek, and have yourselves a time.
This is a CITO event cache located in the Hay Creek Watershed. We have the full support of the Hay Creek Watershed Association, and I wouldn’t be surprised to meet a few of their members at the event. I recently discovered this area and I was shocked to see a complete vehicle engine sitting in the stream bed just down the hill from the end of the road. If I thought that I could get it up the hill myself I would, but since I can’t, I’m calling upon my friends. I need minds, winches, straps, chains, blocks and tackle. A ladder may come in handy as well. I think a careful extraction would be better than dragging it kicking and screaming up the hill.
Of course there is other trash in the area. A special THANKS to BFI Conastoga for providing a ten yard dumpster!!! Now we just need people to help fill it up for the photo op. If people want to show up and help out in that department, it would be equally appreciated. I figure if we all get out around 8:00 am, depending on the turn out, we should be high fiving by 10:00. And for those of you that haven’t been here before, this site serves as the jumping off place for four great caches in the area.
If anyone wants to offer to haul off the engine, that would be appreciated as well, otherwise it is going in the back of the Tracker.
Now lets get out there and do some good!
