The Netherland windmill was built in 1994,in time for the 40th anniversary of Sakura city.
It serves as a landmark for the Sakura Furusato Square,and as a symbol of goodwill between Japan and the Netherlands.
This windmill,which was made in Netherlands and assembled here,is the first wind-driven water pump in Japan.
"Tulip festival" is held in spring and "Cosmos festival" is held in autumn.

この風車は、佐倉市市制施行40周年の平成６年春、佐倉ふるさと広場のランドマークとして、また、日蘭親善のシンボルとなるよう建設したものです。
風車は、本体機構のほとんどをオランダで制作し、日本で組み立てた国内初の本格的"水汲み風車"です。
風車の周りには、春にはチューリップ、秋には秋桜が植えられそれぞれ祭りが開催されます。
