Geocache Description:

A pleasant walking tour of Carlisle on Compass-Confused streets.

The posted coordinates will take you to a parking lot where you can begin your walking tour of Carlisle. Yes, you could drive around Carlisle, but why? You’d miss a lot of the character of Carlisle and it is hard to solve puzzle clues while at the wheel. You will want to drive to GZ.

If you know Carlisle at all, you know there are four streets named for the four compass points. Where it gets confusing is that, North Street for example, has an East North Street end and a West North Street end. To make it even worse, all four “direction” streets intersect at least two of the other “direction" streets. What crazy person thought of this?

For those of you NOT familiar with Carlisle, to get to the posted coordinates and the parking, you will have crossed one of these four streets.

The cache is located at:
N 40 12.AC7
W 077 12.BD2

To solve the puzzle, proceed to the intersection of W. South Street and S. West Street. Count the number of churches on this intersection. This is A.

From here, proceed on South Street to the intersection of S. East Street and E. South Street. On your way, you’ll pass Fay’s Country Kitchen. If it is Sunday morning, stop in for breakfast – you might even see me. At the intersection of S. East Street and E. South Street – count the number of concrete steps it takes to get on the bridge to cross the creek (but don't cross the creek). This is B.

Proceed on East Street to the intersection of E. North Street and N. East Street. Count the number of fire hydrants within 12 yards of this intersection and add two. This is C.

Proceed on North Street to the intersection of N. West Street and W. North Street. Count the number of green mail boxes and subtract this number from the number of players on a baseball team. This is D. Are we having fun yet?

You now should have everything you need to find the cache. At GZ, some days you will find zero muggle activity and other days you will be surrounded by muggles. If it is a high-muggle-day, please use extreme stealth. Please replace the cache exactly as you found it. Remember to BYOP. No clues for now - we'll see how it goes.

CONGRATULATIONS to unless14 on the FTF (her first FTF) and the co-find with hillbl3 ! ! !
