This Letterbox is NOT at the posted coords.
But you need to start from here.
To stay with the Letterbox concept this one will challenge you a
bit. While visiting other parts of this country most of the
letterboxes we saw we had to use a bit of GPS work and a bit of
Letterboxing to complete them.
So here is what you have to do.
STEP ONE
Get into your watercraft and arrive at posted coords. Once there
you will see a log sticking out of the water. This log has been
there for at least the last three years and we assume it will be
there for a while. (see Photo)
STEP TWO
Look around you in all diections and you will see another item
sticking out of the water. (see photo)
This item is between 500 and 1000 feet away from where you are in
Step ONE. You will need to paddle over to that location.
STEP THREE
Once at this location take note on what direction you had to travel
to get here.
By using the list below determine what direction you need to go
from here to get to the Ground Zero and the Letterbox
Container.
- If you traveled a heading between 1 and 36.
You need to head 130° for 132'.
- If you traveled a heading between 37 and 72.
You need to head 162° for 454'.
- If you traveled a heading between 73 and 108.
You need to head 171° for 245'.
- If you traveled a heading between 109 and 144.
You need to head 283° for 358'.
- If you traveled a heading between 145 and 180.
You need to head 26° for 521'.
- If you traveled a heading between 181 and 216.
You need to head 60° for 135'.
- If you traveled a heading between 217 and 252.
You need to head 125° for 630'.
- If you traveled a heading between 253 and 288.
You need to head 325° for 196'.
- If you traveled a heading between 289 and 324.
You need to head 77° for 302'.
- If you traveled a heading between 325 and 360.
You need to head 249° for 120'.
STEP FOUR
From the shore line it is approx. a 120' walk to ground zero.
Look for a large tree that broke and fell. In base of fallen
tree.
