Geocache Description:

Welcome to Squires-Oliphant Cemetery

(or Cemetary as the sign on the gate says).

Please be respectful while visiting this location.

This is a family cemetery began over 150 years ago by the Squires and Oliphant Families, original pioneer families of Linn County.

I found this location while doing some family tree research. My great-great-great-grandparents are buried here. They left Kentucky in the 1840s and headed north to settle the Otter Creek area. They worked closely with neighboring families to establish this area for farming. My great-great-great-grandfather died in 1860.

This is a micro with room for a log only. Please bring your own pen or pencil.
