Beware!!!!!!!! This is the site of the White Clay Witch's old
House. In the 1690's when Newark was just being settled, an old
woman lived in the woods... Sickness hit the settlement and the
residents blamed the old woman and claimed she was a witch! The
angry survivors raided the house and ran the woman into the
woods.... Where she was neevr heard from again! This is the site of
her old home. The vines twist and turn!
This is a small cache that contains some of the tools an old witch
might use in her spells.. Beware! The legend is that the old witch
still haunts the woods and the vines and roots will capture any
intruder to her home...they have created a den, twisting together
to block the light. The gps may be a little jumpy in this area..
but keep looking! There are two TREES that are hugging...to protect
the last stone of the Witch's den foundation. These are cursed
trees so be careful.. they may try to hug you.. This is a State
Park approved cache!
