Geocache Description:

Providence Canyon is nicknamed "Georgia's Little Grand Canyon" because of all the different color changes of the soil. This is a great place for the whole family. You can spend a few hours or a few days if you would like to hike through the canyon.

The park is open 7:00 am to 6:00 pm from September 15 to April 15. The rest of the year it is open until 9:00 pm. How to get there without GPS. From Interstate 185 take Highway 27 to Lumpkin. At Lumpkin, go 7 miles west on SR 39C. The park is on the left. For more info call: (229) 838-6202.

IN ORDER TO GET CREDIT FOR A FIND: I will need a photo of either you, friends, or family with a GPS and some part of the canyon in the back ground. Can be more than one photo. When you log the cache upload your photo. There are plenty of overlooks and cliffs that can be captured in a photo.

DUE TO NEW REQUIREMENTS OF EARTHCACHES:

I need you to e-mail me the types of soil that can be found here and what was the main cause forming the canyons? You can post logs of your visits, but not answers to the questions because they will be deleted.
