This is a 4wd themed cache dropped off by the Southern California Club Xterra (SCCX) in Anza Borrego State Park. The club had taken a break after coming up to Sheep’s Canyon and decided this would be a great spot for a cache. It is a fairly challenging 4wd trail, although it is also possible to come by hiking, biking, or on horseback. So after leaving a nice goodie (preferably 4wd themed) take a photo (if you have your own camera) of whatever helped get you to this cache.
The place to start for this trail would be the South Coyote Canyon Trailhead. Find the intersection of Henderson Canyon Road and Di Giorgio Road and the trail will start about a half mile after turning north on Di Giorgio. There will be two stream crossings that will be easy if you have a high clearance vehicle. After the second water crossing there is a challenging half mile rocky section. The rest is a breeze- just make sure to take the left turn to Sheep's Canyon and you'll find the parking garage.
Note: This cache will have to be temporarily disabled in between the dates of June 1 to September 30. The park closes the area to all users for the protection of the rare peninsular big horn sheep.
Cache contents:
A very nice set of Monster Trucks; including Jurassic Attack, Master of the Universe, Blue Thunder, Grave Digger, and Dragon Slayer. There are also some off road style Hot Wheels, a CD container to store those extra CD’s while wheelin’, and a Sacajawea Dollar.
