Geocache Description:

This cache was planted for the Bucks caching summer bash ’04. It is set around a reservoir & canal and is therefore in close proximity to water at all times so parents with small children may wish to take extra care. Please also note that, if when you do this cache the final resting place is clearly under water, due to flooding, DO NOT attempt to find it as this could prove extremely dangerous.

This is a 3 part multi cache set around Startops End Reservoir, Marsworth Reservoir & the Grand Union Canal in Marsworth, which could be completed inbetween drinks at the White Lion public house, where if you do choose to stop for a snack or beverage, you will find free parking very close to location 1 (The cords on this page are for this car park). If your not stopping, parking can also be found opposite the pub, in a large public car park for the small fee of £1 which goes towards the keep of the area. Follow the coordinates below to where they take you and find a black film container at each which will help you complete a final set of cords, good luck!...

N 51° 49.135 W 000° 40.021- Opposite the Drinking Hole

The first micro can be located not too far from the pub and really should have paid more attention to the signpost as it has stopped in the wrong place. Once you have it head off to location 2 by either climbing the steps and crossing the road carefully, or make your way under the bridge and cross the lock.

N 51° 48.885 W 000° 39.968- Hide & Seek

The second micro can be found inside the wooden bird watch, where the cords will take you. Search in the corners to find your goal, and please replace it carefully when done! Now use the numbers you have found to work out the final resting place…

N 51° 48.D(A+4)(B+1) W 000° 40.(C-1)(E-6)(F+1)

This should take you to a wooded area, be carefull with kids here as the water is close by. As the area gives poor GPS signal due to tree cover you may struggle to locate the cache. If this is the case use the clue which should be helpful!

After finding it return to the main path and either retrace your steps, or walk on for a very short distance to the road, head right and rejoin the footpath on the right after about 10 seconds, this way you will complete a curcuit of Startops.

Have fun, Dan!
