Geocache Description:

This cache was placed while we were on vacation visiting home. It is a multiple cache that will require you to visit several downtown historical places. I have actually given you two separate sources to acquire the clues you will need. The first way is to visit Church Street Graveyard, which is where the above coordinates will take you. After you visit there searching for different headstones you will have to visit Admiral Semmes home located in the 800 block of Government St. From there you will have to go to Beinville Square located downtown on Dauphin St. Be sure to feed the pigeons and squirrels while your there. After this leg of your journey you will head to Fort Conde for your final clues (admission is free).

The second way to acquire clues is actually easier but more costly. All of the clues are contained inside the Museum located in the old City Hall building on Royal St. Which is one block north of Fort Conde. The admission there is 5.00 for adults. I’m not sure of the price for children. Whether your from Mobile or just a visitor I’m sure you will learn a lot about the history of Mobile that you didn’t know. This is a very cool place that I highly recommend! If you want to hunt the cache using these clues, email me for the clues. Now off to the hunt.

N 30 and W 088 are a given. The other 10 digits are what you must find. When you have all 10 digits it will lead you to a park in Mobile where you will find the final coordinates to the final cache located in the same park. Please re-hide these as well as they were hidden when you found them, if not better.

First you must find the digits to the North part of the coordinates. They are as follows.

1st digit __ it is the last digit of the year that Joe Cain died
2nd digit __ is the last digit in the year that he was born.
3rd digit __ is the last digit in the year that the Boeuf Gras Society disbanded
4th digit __ is the first digit in the day of the month that William Vance a revolutionary soldier died.
5th digit __ is the last digit in the year that William O’Brien died.
The digits to the West part is as follows.
1st digit __ the last digit in the year that the people of Mobile purchased Admiral Semmes house and presented it to him as a gift -1.
2nd digit __ the last digit in the year that Admiral Semmes house was erected +1.
3rd digit __ the 3rd digit of the year that the plaque for “The Memory Of The Battle Of Mobile Bay” was commemorated. This is located in Beinville Square.
4th digit __ the 1st digit in the day of the month that the British surrendered Fort Conde to the Spanish. This clue is located in Fort Conde.
5th digit __ is located on the 3rd display model in Fort Conde entitled “ Spanish Siege of FT. Charlotte” Take the number of batteries that it speaks of and add 3.
The cache contains a disposable camera, please take a pic of yourself and leave the camera in the cache. I hope you enjoy this cache hunt. I certainly enjoyed gathering the information and setting it up. Happy caching.
