This intersection saw Commack through 200 years of growth. Level ground, shielded by shrubs on both sides, easy park and grab.
Micro with log only. Large intersection with mugglers aplenty so be stealthy.
The cache is located at the original "Whitman Hollow" these grounds were used for the training of the US Militia prior to British Occupation.
Cruise over to www.COMMACKHISTORY.com to get a grasp for what the area was like throughout the past century and a half. While your here, imagine the progress this intersection has seen. Once a quiet crossroads with no traffic it is now busy all the time, with eight lanes and many traffic lights. If we were still in 1910, just accross Jericho to your south, would be the historic Commack Hotel, and the first community General Store. Commack's first motor-car service center was only a few hundred feet to your west.
Better yet, about 1000 feet north, the original Methodist Church, built in 1789, as New York's first Methodist church this one-room estabilishment stands unchanged adjacent to the original Comac Cemetary. With some of Commack's founding families, and a Revolutionary War Soldier from the 2nd Continental Milita. Take a moment to read some of the headstones.
